4^th Training and Enrichment Workshop for Zoo Animals (TEWZA) Moves to Oakland!

 

The 4^th TEWZA is moving from Detroit to Oakland, California! Once again, the Oakland Zoo will host a TEWZA from December 6-10, 2010. This unique five-day workshop is designed for keepers, managers, supervisors, curators, and veterinarians working with all species of animals held in zoos. Workshop format includes lecture, discussion, small group projects, demonstrations, and multiple hands-on training and enrichment opportunities with Detroit ZooÕs diverse collection. 1^st Southeast Asia Shape of Enrichment Workshop

 

Our newly formed Shape—Southeast Asia regional is holding their first event – an Enrichment and Training Workshop. Hosted by Wildlife Reserves Singapore, this 4-day workshop will be held in Singapore from 4-7 October, 2010.

 

Instructors Valerie Hare (The Shape of Enrichment) and Gail Laule (Active Environments) will present an array of topics relating to animal behavior management with particular emphasis on environmental enrichment, positive-reinforcement training techniques and problem-solving processes. Publications Available   The Shape of Enrichment Quarterly Publication   Volumes 19 and 20 may be ordered only by volume. Individual back issues from volumes 1-18 are currently available.   ICEE Proceedings   Proceedings for the 9th International Conference on Environmental Enrichment (2009) are expected to be available in December.
